Beth Barshinger earned her BS degree in Biblical Studies in 1979 and her BA degree in church music in 1980 from Philadelphia Biblical University, now Cairn University. Since this time, she has taught classroom music in a private school, and developed an elementary school music curriculum. She has taught French horn, voice and piano privately. She has taught home schoolers in the Lehigh Valley music and drama since 1987. Beth and her husband, Tom have four children. She began homeschooling her children in 1985 and graduated her last child in 2011. In 1991, she became the music director at Living Hope Presbyterian Church, a position she still holds today. Beth has had the joy of acting on stage in a number of productions with Family Playhouse and Players of the Stage. She played Mrs. Sowerby in The Secret Garden, Marilla Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, and Mrs. Bradley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Players of the Stage was founded in the fall of 2000 by Beth and her oldest daughter, Anna. She has had the privilege of partnering with her daughters, Anna, Sharon and Marian as the artistic directors over the past 21 years. Seeing students develop and grow in their God-given gifts and talents is one of her great joys in being involved in the theater. Beth enjoys hanging out with her husband, children, five grandchildren, learning about healthy living, letterboxing and snuggling up with a good book.

Sharon Noel - Artistic Director
Sharon Noel has been involved with theatre since she was eight, starting out with a local theatre group and then through participating in Players of the Stage. Her major roles include Beth in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice and Lizzy Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. She served as the Artistic Director at Players of the Stage from 2009 to 2018 and returned as Interim Artistic Director in 2020. During her time, she has directed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever twice, The Importance of Being Ernest, A Christmas Carol twice, The Miracle Worker, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Pygmalion, and A Prince and the Pauper. She has also adapted and directed The Little Princess, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Anne of Green Gables, Peter Pan and adapted and choreographed a dramatic rendition of the book of Jonah. Sharon graduated from Northampton Community College in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Technical Theatre and studied under Larry Silverberg and graduated from his Summer Meisner Institute in 2016. Sharon earned her BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University in 2020. Sharon has written several original scenes and two original plays, both of which have been performed in the Lehigh Valley.
Betsy is a native of the Lehigh Valley and has been involved with Players of the Stage since 2006. She has the privilege of working in the costume department for the past several years; she loves the creative process and enjoys fabricating original character costume design.
Betsy has a BA in American History and a MA in Educational Technology and Online Learning. She is deeply involved in her church, karate dojo, and family. Her favorite pastimes include reading, sewing (for herself), going on long walks, and playing with her niece and nephew.

Marian Barshinger has been active in theatre since she was four years old and has been a part of Players of the Stage since its beginning.She holds a B.A in Acting/Directing from DeSales University. Marian has directed many POTS shows, including The Amateurs, The Outsiders, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and A Christmas Carol. Marian has also directed for The Pennsylvania Playhouse with the highly successful production of And Then There Were None.In addition to directing, Marian has worked as an educational performer, theater educator, and actor. When not doing theatre work, you can find Marian reading and writing books, playing with horses, challenging herself at the gym, and discussing theology with her friends. Marian is pursuing her MFA in directing at Baylor University in Waco, TX.
